Bayshore Abstract
Bayshore Abstract
This series explores the iconic Bayshore railing, which is painted white but attracts a certain grittiness because of its concrete composition and the bay air, juxtaposed to the historic homes that line the road. My Bayshore Series is a mixed media art series, composed of 8 larger works on canvas. Each piece leans into the celebrated elements in architecture and interior design that catch my eye. I started off by having Bayshore Boulevard photographed from a straight-on view, which compliments it's beautiful, concrete silhouette. This printed image is the repetitive feature you will find throughout the series. I always like to feature a paper component; instead of painting Bayshore, it was fun to print it out at large scale and mess around with different ways of applying it to each canvas. This allowed me to explore different mediums and materials that were aligned with the interior decor of individual homes in the Tampa Bay area.
